The town of Bogalusa, also known as the Magic City, is located in the upper, eastern corner of Louisiana’s “boot”. The city of 13,000 (with some 18,000 - 20,000 including the surrounding area) is a mill town composed of working class people. Many of the families have been in the area for several generations and the people deeply love their city. The city has received the “Beautiful City” award a number of times for cities in its class size.

In the past several years the churches of this area have built a remarkable relationship with each other. This network, known as "Christ for Our City”, brings together churches of many denominations. Some of the participating denominations are: Catholic, Episcopalian, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Assembly of God, Church of God, Pentecostal, and more.

When Hurricane Katrina struck, this inter-denominational, multiple church group came together with a desire to help the churches play a key role in rebuilding the city. The result is the Christ for Our City Reconstruction Fund. The churches of our city are now actively seeking private donations and public funds so that we may partner with others who are determined to rebuild this special place. The attached material describes this organization.

We ask individuals, corporations, and public entities to help us rebuild.
